Programs Supported
For 11 years, the B2R Scholars residential gap-year program successfully prepared about 30 Scholars a year to win full scholarships to study abroad, primarily to elite private schools in the U.S. A total of 332 Scholars were selected and won over $90 million in international scholarships.
To help more Rwandan students earn university scholarships each year, the B2R Scholars Program was replaced by Isomo Academy in 2021.
Isomo Academy Scholars are supported with one-on-one support navigating the university admissions process, building competitive applications, and applying to the schools that are the best fit for them. To date, Isomo Academy Scholars have won over $30 million in scholarships to universities around the world.
In partnership with the Government of Rwanda, Isomo selects and prepares Rwanda’s top scholars, guiding them through the process of securing international scholarships for Graduates and PhD programs around the world each year.
Since 2022, Isomo has supported the Rwanda Coding Academy in preparing their high school graduates to compete and win scholarships to top universities. To date, Isomo has helped over 25 RCA students secured over $8 million in scholarships.
Between 2021-2022, Isomo worked with the US Embassy’s EducationUSA Program to help 24 Rwandan students win over $6.5 million in scholarships to universities around the world.
Isomo has supported the training of college counselors from Somaliland and Ethiopia, guiding them as they support students in their respective countries to win scholarships to prestigious universities around the world.

Isomo’s College Counselors match students with universities, help them navigate the university admission process, and build globally-competitive applications.
Expanding Global Education Opportunities
In partnership with the Government of Rwanda, Isomo is broadening access to global Master’s and PhD programs for Rwanda’s top talent. The program identifies and prepares university graduates to secure international scholarships that align with Rwanda’s vision and goals.

Isomo partners with RISE for the World to identify brilliant 15-17 year olds committed to serving others to become RISE Global Scholars.
HALI Access Network works with high-achieving, low-income (HALI) students to access international higher education opportunities.
Through InitialView, Scholars are able to strengthen their college application materials with live, unscripted video interviews that set them apart.
Duolingo provides Scholars with access to their English proficiency testing that is widely accepted by colleges and universities around the world.
