Alliance Merci Arengerwe, a Cohort III Isomo Scholar and graduate of Cornerstone Leadership Academy, has been officially announced as the top performer in the 2024–2025 Advanced Level National Examinations (General Education). At just 18 years old, Alliance achieved a remarkable overall score of 96.06 percent, including perfect marks in both Chemistry and Mathematics, distinguishing him as the best student nationwide in the rigorous exams.
This achievement didn’t come by chance—it was the result of years of disciplined study, unwavering dedication, and a clear vision of what was possible. Alliance first learned of his extraordinary results while returning home from the 2025 Isomo Academy Bootcamp in September, a moment he describes as both joyful and surreal. Throughout that journey, he consistently credited his closest supporters—his family, his teachers, and the Isomo program—as critical pillars in his success. These influencers helped strengthen not only his academic knowledge but also his confidence, communication skills, and readiness for life beyond secondary school.
Alliance has shared that Isomo—which focuses on developing both personal and academic capacities—was transformative, giving him the tools to perform under pressure and aim confidently toward further education. His success is a testament to what can be achieved when student potential is nurtured with high expectations, mentorship, and an environment that encourages ambition.
Looking ahead, Alliance plans to pursue biotechnology or biochemical engineering in university, fields that connect his passion for science with his desire to contribute meaningfully to society. By harnessing scientific knowledge and technological innovation, he aims to address real-world challenges and contribute to Rwanda’s burgeoning science and innovation ecosystem.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Alliance Merci Arengerwe—not just for topping the national examinations, but for exemplifying the spirit of dedication, leadership, and aspiration that we hope to nurture in all our Scholars. His story is an inspiring reminder of the power of education to open doors and propel young talent toward impactful futures.
