Isomo Hosts Francine A. LeFrak & Friends in Rwanda for the 2026 LeFrak-Friedberg Africa Scholars Summit

The LeFrak-Friedberg Africa Scholars Summit, held in Kigali this March, brought together an inspiring community of young scholars, global leaders, and partners committed to investing in Africa’s future. Made possible through the generous support of the Francine A. LeFrak Foundation, the Summit created space for meaningful dialogue around leadership, education, and opportunity. The program featured a dynamic list of guests from the United States, including Francine LeFrak, Sheila Klehm of UBS, Tnyetta Mitchell of Bank of America, and Adam Knight of Knight Fine Art, who shared insights from their professional journeys and challenged scholars to think boldly about their futures.

Rwandan leaders also played a central role in shaping the conversation, highlighting the country’s vision for innovation and inclusive growth. Distinguished speakers included Hon. Paula Ingabire, Minister of ICT & Innovation; Hon. Sandrine Umutoni, Minister of State for Youth & Arts; Dr. Yvan Butera, Minister of State for Health; and private sector leaders such as Israel Bimpe of Irembo and Blaise Pascal Gasabira of RSwitch. Together, alongside voices like Dr. Phil Cotton,  Vice-Chancellor of the University of Global Health Equity, and B2R Fellow Justus Uwayesu, they offered Scholars a powerful blend of global perspective and local leadership.

We are deeply grateful to the Francine A. LeFrak Foundation for their partnership and vision in making this gathering possible and for their continued investment in the next generation of African leaders.
