SOUK Farms is one of the largest growers and exporters of fresh horticultural produce from Rwanda—the land of a thousand hills.
We export a variety of fruits and vegetables across Europe and the Middle East, while also serving consumers in our local market.
We work with over 1,200 farmers across Rwanda, with farming operations spanning 200 hectares of land. Of the total hectarage, we operate 130 hectares as our own farm. SOUK Farms one of the leading horticultural exporters in Rwanda.
Role focus:
We are looking for a Business Development Specialist to support and develop our international expansion, particularly into the European and Asia territories. Your primary goal is to drive and execute business development activities to accelerate market share growth and client adoption of SOUK Investment Group (SIG) Agri produce. You will be responsible for ensuring that the company achieves its revenue as well as growth and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing and expanding business operations toward sustained growth
- Identifying opportunities to increase profitability and revenues
- Evaluating and improving marketing, and branding strategies to manage corporate marketing (social media, newsletters, website, annual report, etc.)
- Identifying and developing new lines of business based on consumer behavior. Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and general market conditions and suggest products that can be produced to satisfy the local, international, and regional markets
- Write proposals for business growth opportunity ideas
- Think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
- Acquire, maintain and report adequate knowledge of product, market and competition
- Create project timelines, proposals and reports for new business development activities and or opportunities being created
Required Qualification:
- Proven track record of success in project management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term client relationships
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving business growth
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to project management
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to overcome objections and secure profitable deals
- Be fluent in English and Kinyarwanda. Both verbal and written. Other foreign language(s) such as French is a plus
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite programs and databases
