Isomo Completes the First Year of Primary Teacher Residency Program Pilot

This summer, Isomo wrapped up the Primary Teacher Residency (PTR) Pilot Program in partnership with the Ministry of Education, marking remarkable strides in both language proficiency and digital literacy. PTR Residents demonstrated outstanding growth in English, advancing an average of four grade levels. Impressively, 99 of the 100 residents reached B1 proficiency or higher on the CEFR scale (around a 6th-grade level), showcasing their mastery of essential language skills.

Digital literacy results were equally exciting. With
84 residents achieving typing speeds of 30 words per minute or more, and an average score of 78% in Essential Computer Skills on the Northstar Digital Literacy Test, these new educators are better equipped as they enter the classroom. We are proud of the program’s success in fostering 21st-century skills and look forward to making Isomo’s innovative way of learning accessible to more Teacher Training Colleges this coming year.
